Homestead Summer Camp in Mustang

Fostering Creativity and Garden Learning

About Good Morning Homestead: Youth Academy

We are welcoming a small group of five: 10 - 15 year old tweens to our 2 acre Summer Homestead Camp.

We’ll get their sleeves rolled up and diving into the joys of gardening, cooking, and making art. From incubating chicken eggs, planting seeds in their own raised beds, and gathering fresh veggies -- to turning their harvests into delicious meals and exploring creativity with our experienced Art teacher, every day is an adventure! Our goal is to inspire confidence, a sense of responsibility, and a love for the simple, meaningful things in life. At the end of the day, they’ll take home not just their creations -- whether bread loaf, sewing project, or canned preserves – but also a sense of pride and fun stories about their active day!

Our mission is to inspire students through hands-on experiences in gardening and art, teaching them about plant biology, sustainable food systems, and the joy of creativity. By offering themed activities each week, we aim to create a dynamic learning environment that encourages personal growth and skill development.

Our Program

Good Morning Homestead: Youth Academy

MISSION STATEMENT

Our homestead is dedicated to providing youth with transformative, hands-on educational experiences in gardening, culinary arts, and creative expression. Through fostering practical skills and a love for sustainable living, our programs aim to empower young individuals to become confident, responsible, and community-minded adults.

Weekly courses run Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm., with flexible options for early drop-off and late pick up. After 3:00 pm, students with a bathing suit are welcome to enjoy supervised swimming in the pool while waiting for their parents.

Gardening Adventures: 9am-11am

Cultivate and Learn

Our gardening adventures focus on teaching kids about sustainability, soil health, and the joy of cultivating their own green spaces. Each student will get their own portion of a raised bed and nurture it into harvest. They can choose from a variety of seeds, provided by our own seed collection and fully own their growth. Matured fruits and veggies can be taken home to share!

Meal Prep Workshops: 11am-1pm

Nutrition and Creativity

Engage in interactive meal prep workshops that provide practical knowledge on healthy eating, culinary skills, and the benefits of mindful food preparation from scratch! As often as possible, food will be sourced from our ripe garden finds. Food and kitchen-tool safety will be taught, alongside teamwork and consideration for others food needs and preferred taste. We'll enjoy lunch together!

Artistic Exploration: 1pm-3pm

Express and Create

Participate in artistic exploration that allows students to express themselves through various art forms, fostering a deeper connection to creativity and self-expression. From painting, to binding paper to make our own journals, to learning how to sew! Each week will highlight another special something!
